Summer Songs

she opened up her smile for me
laughed
and those often guarded eyes
became soft and warm
I bent down
kissed her crown
rubbed where her spine
met her neck
caressed the delicate flesh
wanted to be warmed
by how brown and rich her eyes were
as they looked to me
in want and wonder
she tasted of passion – of summer breezes
wafting with ripe flowers
and fruits
she is the citrus
fresh and overpowering
